How Popular are YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Other Social Media Apps Among US Teens Today?
A Pew Research study that looks at the social media habit of teenagers in the U.S. found out that YouTube is the dominant social media used by teens. A total of 95 percent of teens ages 13 to 17 said they are using the video streaming platform. Next to YouTube is TikTok at 67 percent. Of this number, 16 percent of the teens claimed that are on the app “almost constantly,” as per Engadget. The third most popular social media site among teens is Instagram, with 62 percent. According to Engadget, tenth of the teens said they are on it almost all the time, even if the app occasionally reminds them to take a break, according to Washington Post.
